JTF Arrests Trucks Siphoning Diesel From NNPC Pipeline

AllAfrica The Joint Miltary Task Force in the Niger Delta, Operation Pulo Shield, has arrested two trucks for siphoning Automated Gas Oil (diesel) from a pipeline belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation. It was learnt that each of the truck had the capacity to carry 45,000 litres of oil. Media Coordinator, JTF, Lt. Col. Mustapha Anka, said the trucks were caught in the act at the NNPC pipeline along Imo Uzoakpo in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State. Lukman steered the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries through the 1997-1998 Asian financial crisis, when crude fell to $10 a barrel. He presided over a record number of OPEC conferences and was the group’s secretary-general for six years until 2000.
